OUR ORIGINS
It all started with a glance. That of Ermete, who in 1977, arrived from Trentino and was enchanted by the beauty of this land. It was not just a place: it was a calling, a destiny to embrace. So, he chose to stay, to sink new roots among these hills, giving life to what is now San Giorgio a Lapi.
Aldo, his son, together with his wife Fiorenza, has taken up that legacy, continuing to cultivate the vineyards and transforming each harvest into a story of passion and dedication. Then, in 1999, the turning point: the eldest of the six children gave a name to this vision, creating the San Giorgio a Lapi brand and tracing the path for the future. A future built day after day with the help of all the brothers, until the birth, in 2020, of the Tasting Room, a space designed to share the essence of this land with anyone who wants to listen to its history through wine.
Today, the company is a family working side by side: Aldo, Fiorenza, and their children, along with their families, oversee every stage of the wine’s life, from tending to the land to the moment the glass embraces it, through the harvest, winemaking, and the journey that leads it to meet those who will appreciate its soul.
Each bottle is not just wine: it is a piece of this story, a fragment of a dream that began with a glance and has been carried forward with the heart.

Each vine is born from an ancient stock, but stretches new branches toward the sky. In the same way, our family grows and renews itself, preserving the past while shaping the future. Here, among the rows, time doesn’t stand still: it transforms, season after season, into new hands ready to cultivate the same passion, with the same love.
And from these hands, new bottles have been born, expressions of a journey that continues. Each label holds a story, every sip carries the echo of the generations who have walked among these rows. New wines, the same spirit: that of a generous land and a family that loves it, listens to it, and tells its story, harvest after harvest.

GEOGRAPHICAL AREA
San Giorgio a Lapi is much more than a winery: it is the meeting point between two souls of Tuscany, a border that does not divide, but enhances. Here, between Chianti Classico and the Colli Senesi, the land itself writes the character of the wines, imprinting them with strength, elegance and complexity.
On the one hand, Chianti Classico, with its poor, draining marl and alberese soils that force the vines to dig deep, giving wines with an austere, vibrant profile, chiseled tannins and an unmistakable mineral soul. On the other, the Colli Senesi, where clays and sands give softness and roundness, offering more enveloping, sunny wines with a more generous fruity vein.
San Giorgio a Lapi was born in this perfect balance, where the tension of Chianti Classico meets the harmony of the Colli Senesi. It is here that each vine finds its voice, that each bottle tells of a unique, unrepeatable territory, capable of blending structure and finesse, character and drinkability.
Our story is that of a family that has chosen to cultivate this uniqueness, listening to the land and interpreting it with respect and vision. For here, where two lands shake hands, a wine is born that resembles no other.
